Replacing all teeth with Dental Implants

“Removable dentures can work well – but its not as good as fixed teeth”

What we did:

  • Top and bottom All on 4 treatment

  • Final teeth made from Acrylic on a metal skeleton

  • 8 implants placed over 4 treatment sessions

In this case my patient had been going to his regular dentist for many years.

Gum disease had loosened his teeth and many were already missing. This had left my patient with some overloaded teeth, which were getting looser.

We decided to place 4 implants at the top and 4 at the bottom, but as there was not a lot of bone, we placed the dental implants in stages over a few appointments.

This gave them time to heal in before connecting the teeth, he was able to use his old denture as a temporary set of teeth.

We then had several ‘try in’ appointment to get his final look exactly right, and when it was, we made the final bridge on a metal skeleton (for strength)

For the bottom teeth, there was ample bone, so we placed and connected the temporary bridge teeth to the implants in one appointment, using the normal all on 4 methodology.

The lower teeth are visible when talking, but less so when smiling. As we get older we show more lower teeth so, if we want to rejuvenate a smile, one way to do it is to show less lower teeth.
